Words in this recording (for helpers)

Welcome to Reading Is Still Possible. I'm Cali Collins, and I wrote this book.
You're listening to the Start Here guide. To get here, you pointed your phone camera at the square, tapped the link that popped up, and tapped the big round Play button. Every recording for this book works the same way: point, tap the link, tap Play.
While I'm talking, that round button shows two short bars. Tap it to pause me. Tap it again to keep going. Under it is a button that says Start Over. Tap that to hear me again from the beginning.
Now let's find our way around the book. Every page has a number in the bottom corner. When I say a page number, look for it there. Page eighteen is a one and an eight.
The book has fifty-seven lessons. On the first page of every lesson, near the top on the right side, there's a square code just for that lesson. When you use it, you'll see a few Play buttons. Each one shows the page number it goes with. Pick the one that matches your page.
Some pages are checks. Their squares sit inside a dashed box. Those recordings only tell you what to do. They never say the words on the check, because the check is for you to read.
Here is where to begin. If you are just starting to read, turn to page eighteen. That's Lesson One. You don't need to read anything before it.
If you can already read some words, turn to page thirteen and use the square at the top of that page. It explains a short check that tells you where to start.
If you'd like to hear my letter to you, use the square at the top of page five.
If you ever reach the website by typing the address instead, you'll see big buttons with names on them. Tap Start Here to hear this again. To hear a lesson, tap Lessons, then the lesson's number.
There's no clock in this book, and no one is grading you. When you're done listening, you can close the page. Nothing is saved, and nothing costs money. When you're ready, turn to page eighteen, or to the page the check gave you. Let's begin.
